Federal authorities will look to investigate an entertainment company and the owner of an escaped tiger found on I-75 south of Atlanta in Henry County, GA. The investigation seeks to file charges against the company and the owner.
The tiger that was spotted on the northbound lanes of I-75 back in September and was the shot by local police officers in a nearby neighborhood.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said in an email that state officials have handed over the investigation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) due to multiple states being involved in the incident. The USDA oversees the transportation of wild animals.
he USDA will look at whether charges should be filed against Feld Entertainment, the owner of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s circus, and big cat trainer Alexander Lacey.
